Fuel Injector Leaking

94 3.1L : Are the clips that hold onto the fuel rail from the top of the injector necessary. I recently had the plenum and fuel rail off and could not get the clips to go on properly. I was hoping that the bolts that hold the fuel rail to the intake manifold would be enough. After driving today I noticed a smell of gasoline. When I looked under the hood I noticed that the right side injector was leaking. I'm hoping that the fuel rail was just put on the injectors incorrectly.

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to fit the fuel rail on the injectors? Do they just drop on top or do you have to slide lock them into place or are the clips required or what? I didn't remove or install them, and the guy who did do it said they weren't necessary, now he says they are, so I'm sort of lost.

Contacted the dealer, they want $70 for 6 clips.

No, it looks like the pick in my gallery. Don't know how to post the image in the thread. Sorry for the crudeness of the image. The fuel rail would be ontop of the circle I call the injector and the clip would be secured to the lip of the fuel rail.

Big L, I looked up the injectors in a Chilton's manual and the clips you posted are correct but they were for the VIN T engine, I have a VIN M and I think they might be different. Anyway, gonna take the plenum off to get at the fuel rail to see what is going on.

Thanks.
