Fuel Line Reset switch in 2000 Caviler?

Hi.

Does anyone know where the reset switch for the fuel line is in my 2000 Chevy Caviler? My only friend who knew where it was is now fighting in Iraq. Please help. Thanks.

Re: Re: Fuel Line Reset switch in 2000 Caviler?

Here's what happened... I ran out of gas. The fuel light came on and I thought "hmm... I better get gas, as soon as I'm done getting my hair cut..." which of course, was too late. I ran out of gas as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. This happened to me before, and my husband found out from thru a friend's mechanic that sometimes if you floor the gas while turning the iginition, the air will get out of the fuel line and the car will start. I tried this and it didn't work this time.

My husband knows nothing about cars so our friend came over and replaced the fuel filter since no gas is getting thru the line (he used that starter spray). He thinks we may need to replace our fuel pump, but he said that all cars have a switch/relay that may have popped when I ran out of gas.

The very first time I ran out of gas, we added a couple of gallons of gas and the car still would not turn over. Our friend called his uncle and his uncle said that something needed to be reset so our friend was on the passanger side, under the hood, did something that took less than 30 seconds and told me to start the car and the car started!

I know... I know... I know... I won't ever run out of gas again, I promise. But if you could help me, that would be the best!!
