They botched my car!!

So in that "Why are import drivers cocky" thread thing, I gave credit to some honda owners that I know that seemed to know a lot about cars... I TAKE IT THE FUCK BACK

So last Thursday, I gave my car to the local performance shop to mold in some gauges to my dash, mold an LCD in and mold a fix for one of my scoops on the back of my MR2, because one screw hole was broken and wasn't very stable. This is what I got in return:

1) now my gauge cluster lights don't work, (actually, none of my interior lights work save for the dome lights),

2) they left some dash pieces out, like the one that goes in between my whole dash panel and my gauge cluster, which is a HUGE bitch to put in. And originally they didn't even put my cluster in because they "couldn't find it" It was in the fucking trunk. Where they put it and where I told them to put it.

3) I had them look at my previously stuck BOV. So now it's worse; the BOV fires off as soon as I let off the gas, disabling the turbo from doing at least part of it's thing, (That's what I get for having them look at it)

4) They took some of the tools I had in there and I had to go back and get them, and then bitch and show them my tool set they were missing from. Guess that's kinda my fault for leaving tools in there witht hem though.

5) they installed the LCD I had put in upside down. I still can't even get it out. I'm a little afraid they molded it on or something.

6) They ripped the positive connector wire OUT of the connector to the LCD. And they didn't just rip it out they broke it RIGHT AT THE CONNECTOR. And it's like an 8 pin connector, which I couldn't find ANYWHERE and ended up having to glue a new wire in there, which I shouldn't have had to do at all. And it was so obvious. There's a big red wire and a big black wire when i give it to them. they give it back with one big black wire. They had to have seen it, come ON! Which would explain why they didn't test the LCD when I asked them to.

7) It took them 8 days to do a 2 day MAX job. And I had an appointment to go get the frame straightened Monday morning and when I told them, they said "oh yeah if we're not done well just take it up there ourselves. no problem. We do a lot of business with those guys. Definately. They didn't do it now 've got to wait ANOTHER week to straighten my frame. In the meantime I get to drive around without a hood since my hood hinges are all twisted.

8) and when I went to take out the gauge cluster to see if I could find the problem with the lights, I realized they only put in about half the screws that were there originally. Then I look and the sames true everywhere. 2 screws in the cluster instead of 4, 1 screw instead of two in the ash tray, etc... And the other screws that were there when I gave them the car? Gone.

I really wanna take it back and have them at least fix the scoops, because I paid for that, and do a few other things I noticed and wanted critiqued, but I just REALLY don't trust them to work on my car anymore. *sigh* I guess they did good work for what I wanted them to, but EVERYTHING proprietary is fucked up.

Re: They botched my car!!

I would take it immediatly back to the shop, and talk to either the owner, or manager, and state the shitty quality of the work, and if it isnt corrected the 2nd time around, you will be filling a complaint against them with the local chamber of commerce, the BBB, and any other agency that will hurt them.

if they are a tuner shop, word of mouth, and stating the crappy work/showing them around. should be sufficient to take customers away from them.

Re: They botched my car!!

well their fiberglass work isn't bad. The owner did the work on my car. And I'm taking it back as soon as I can but my work schedule is killing me. I took it back Sunday to talk to the guy and he was like "didn't you do something wiht the gauge cluster? I'm like "yeah but EVERYTHING ins't lighting up. That's not my problem." but the dood that did all my stuff wasnt there i had to wait for him.

Then take him to court to get your money back/sue for damages.
