royal purple

i have been hearing a lot of good things about royal purple on all the automotive t.v. shows and i was wondering if any one hear has had any true life experiance with it. i saw on t.v. where they swapped out the tranny fluid, diff fluid and oil on a stock camero and got 10 horses! what do you think?

Re: royal purple

I suppose it's possible, but I kindda doubt it (unless the old stuff was REALLY bad). Just remember who paid for them to have it on the show.

10 Horsepower is Very possible.

Synthetic oil has been proven to be far superior to conventional oil.

The increase in horsepower didn't come from changing 1 to the other though.

It came from going to a much lighter Weight oil. It takes less power to run the pumps in the engine & trans. Lighter weight in the diff too.

It's usually associated with a mileage increase.

royal purple

i just switched to royal purple. i don't know about horsepower, but i have noticed better throttle response, my motor running cooler, and after it warms up it starts when i barely turn the key. i switched from castrol syntec blend 10w30.

I think that Royal Purple is about the best oil you can get, it's pretty expensive though I believe. They claim that it adds power and does all those other neato things and I'm sure that it does, but it's gonna react differently to all engines. If I ever built up my own engine there is no doubt that is the oil I would use in it but for 130,000 miles on my truck Valvoline Synthetic does fine, as does any other synthetic.

royal purple

Royal Purple will not give you any horsepower at all! what it acually does is frees up the power you already have so yes there will be an increase in output. royal purple is a very good product and if you want to spend that cash go ahead.
