eclipse system too corny?

Alotof my friends are trying to talk me into putting a eclipse system in my car "eclipse in a eclipse" ... does that sound too corny, or would it be cool? (if done right)
In the process of changing my blown stock speakers and tape deck for a nicer system, I'm not looking for the most expensive, just something that sounds/looks good. Anyone wanna add their

Well, Eclipse components and head units get expensive quickly, but they are top of the line. Just talk to Vince (BoostedSpyder) about his deck--he loves it.

Eclipse is truely awesome. Get what sounds good and what you want man! Who cares what people think. I think it is kind of cool having eclipse in an eclipse. They have awesome stuff. I have a few friends with it, it is truely amazing. Just replacing a deck can make an entire stero sound like a new system. Eclipse is awesome, I love it. However, if you don't want to spend quite as much, I would recomment Xtant. They are awesome as well.

Hey man, eclipse is a great brand and it should sound great as well, who cares what the name is... As long as it sounds good, also some other good brands include Audiobahn, JL Audio, and Fusion

I just suck at making my mind up, im trying to decide if I want that system or not. Decisions decisions decisions... I'll just let my husband decide how much I'm able to spend on it I guess.. lol

Well if you want a good deal on some quality name brands of subs/amps, etc. go to www.serious-sounds.com and our ebay store has even more just search by seller and type "DMSSGS".

Audiobahn does not have any SQ. Only SPL. Fusion is not too bad at all and yeah JL is pretty good as well.

Totally get something that sounds good, but Audiobahn is not it, I speak from presonal experience.

If you have the money, you won't be dissapointed by Eclipse components. If you are doing it for the name and don't need the sound... of course there are cheaper options. I like the Eclipse brand for quality, and the security features on the decks they make are nifty also. Look forward to spending a lot of money. Remember that you don't have to have the same brand of equipment, too.

eclipse makes great car stereo products - but, they can get very expensive. as for weather eclipse in an eclipse is corny... dont worry about it - if itll blow your eardrums, who cares?

Beacuse if all it does is blow your eardrums that is retarded. not only do you get hearing loss,the system doesnt even sound good while doing it :-)

Just my thought on massive shitty sounding systems...

thats why i suggested eclipse... if you have enough power going to your components, it will be crystal clear no matter how loud you have it. just my thoughts on having a correctly laid out system.

also, i agree, audiobahn is way too talked up for the sound quality you get from it.

I think i am going to go with the eclipse system eventually, gonna use the system out of the saturn for a while till i can get the eclipse system since my brilliant husband left the lights on, killed my battery, took the wires off to clean the battery terminals and now my radio is saying "code" and i dont feel like going through the trouble of pulling that stupid tape deck out to get the code just to listen to the radio, so now its given me a reason to do it (no sound at all till i do.. lol)

yeah another good system is pioneer i mean there common but they still sound good but eclipse sound is good in my opinion better then pioneer.

I thought the stock infinity(tape/cd+10disc in trunk) in my old spyder sounded pretty good.. for stock...then I got a 12" Xplode sub from Walmart and a 300W jensen amp and I was quite happy for a limited budget!!!
I like the sound of an eclipse in an eclipse though.. has a catchy ring to it!! lol
