Need Info For 86-89 Camaros

Hi there everyone. i was wondering if someone could give me some quick tips here.

Iam looking to purchase a Camaro any year from 86-89 although I would prefer the 87 myself. I have always been in love with the car but unfortunatley I have never been much of gear head when it comes to vehicles. So I was wondering if someone could just give me some quick info:

1.Cost of a average 87 in good mechanical condition

2.Common problems that I should be weary of

3.Average "lifetime" of a 87 Camaro(if it has been well maintained)

I know these questions are very simple but I really dont know where to start. Any help qould be greatly appreciated.

This also depends on the condition of the body, paint, any aftermarket options installed, etc. Gonna be hard to tell until you find one. Any estimates are just ball park figures. I bought my 81 t-top Z28 with a 350 in it for $2000 in 2000, but it was only primered. No paint.

2.Common problems that I should be weary of
Vast majority of those are just the basic "old, used, and possibly abused" type car problems. I don't know the year extremely well myself, but I don't recall any major defects that seem to be common to all the different camaros from that year. I could be wrong, though.

3.Average "lifetime" of a 87 Camaro(if it has been well maintained)
This depends on the amount of work put into it, and also the way it has been driven. It could have been "well maintained" and then driven balls to the wall every time it went out on the road which shortens the "lifetime." However, it could also have been driven like an old lady was behind the wheel.

I just bought an 87 iroc for $1850 a couple of months ago and it is in good condition, just needed some TLC. It was all stock with 79000 miles on it. Headliner needs replacement, has minor exhaust leaks, windshield fluid spraying motor(whatever it's called) is broken but i assume thats common, my 84 camaro's doesn't work aswell as my fathers 84&86 caprice. The problems all depend on how well maintained the car was. So i say anywhere from about $1800-$2500 you could can a decent, well maintained 87 camaro, a good book to look into is the want ad, that where i got mine from. they ususally have honest people in it whole sell decent cars and it only $2.50!
