help! wont start

i have a 88 supra mt turbo i cant get the dam thing to start and im about to give up. i found that if you put the key to the run position and turn the distributer/cranksensor. it gives fuel and spark. but if you try starting it will just crank all day. i wondering what the reason could be that even when i turn the key not even the check engine lite comes on. supra Tech's please help!

try to check /replace water temperature sensor/ wires.
