nitrous??

what do u guys think, would a 50 shot be a good idea, the car is wild throught 2nd but in 3rd i could use some help getting up to 5 grand faster, and getting deeper into the 13's..is it worth it...............also my valves tick upon startup ever so slightly, u can hear it with the hood up, but it goes away when the motor gets hot....im running 15-50 synthetic. something to be worried about?

I doubt you'd see much improvement with a 50hp shot on a V8, maybe 100 or 150.
15W50? Try a 10 or 5W30.

Re: nitrous??

15W50?!?! oil prolly isnt goin anywhere fast when its cool on startup, to thick. either go to a thinner oil or get some of the stabilizer or that startup protection shee-ite...

Re: nitrous??

Are u gonna spray the hole time or just for third gear? I think dry kits kinda suck. I heard that they are not as effective as wet kits.

Are you sure it is valve tick and not a spun bearing?

100-150 wet N02.
Get that oil out of there, if it is cold out and you start it some parts are not getting lubed right away.
What I'd do is...drain 1 qt of oil out and put 1 qt of auto trans fluid in (yes in the engine not the trans) Run it for a bit (30 minute drive should do it). Drain all of the oil and change the filter. refill with 5W30 oil.
The trans fluid will dissolve sludge and unblock any lifters that may be plugged up and ticking.

I'd never heard of that, but that sounds like a good idea.

Re: nitrous??

dry dont really suck ass its just for higher shots you need to go wet. i said wet is better because u dont spray through your damn injecters and if i can leave some factory parts out of the abusei will go that rout everytime, but for over i think 150 u should run wet. i know a guy who has 2 stage he goes 400wet and a second shot that is dry and i think its 100.

15-50 from mobil 1 aint all that bad, it stays on the parts, u cant hardly hear the tick and my oil pressure is in the 40's within 4 seconds, then fast at 60psi, its all good tho, my motor is less than 15k on it. im gonna spray just in 3rd gear, so idk dry shot should be good enough, im not going all pro about it, justa lil help
