Mozilla Firefox problem?

I was using Firefox yesterday when, after awhile I noticed the address bar at the top of the page and the "Back" and "Forward" buttons were missing. I had to right click to go back to a previous page. I noticed the same thing today on any page I view with Mozilla. Has anybody else either noticed this or experienced this? I don't remember clicking on anything to change the format. I went to the Mozilla Firefox site to see if any changes were announced , and there were none that I could find. I downloaded version 1.0.1 over a week ago but still noticed I had the missing items after the new version was installed and used. I really wish the address bar and back and forward buttons were back as I found them helpful when using this browser. Does anybody have any info on this? I did notice from the Mozilla site that version 1.0.2 will probably be released to the general public later this week or next, depending on how many more bugs are found in the beta version now being tested.

Right click on the tool bar (after File Edit....Help) and make sure Navigation Toolbar is checked. If it isn't left click on it and check it.

Re: Mozilla Firefox problem?

Yep, that did the trick. Thanks again. It's amazing how much I've learned about computers in the 3 years I've owned one having no previous experience with them. Most of it was and is through trial and error, and reading online . I'm trying to figure out what I did to lose the navigation bar in the first place, probably an errant right mouse click somewhere LOL.

Re: Mozilla Firefox problem?

Believe it or not, some people remove the back and forward buttons.

Don't ask me why.

I'd rather use the forward and back button than have to right click on the mouse and select what I want to do. That's what I had to do in the meantime when I lost the buttons. I suppose it's all right once you're used to it, but it was hard for me to get used to doing it that way.

haha yah,

I have 7 button mouse, so the back and forward are controlled from the mouse, but even now I can't live without the buttons on FF

i'm surprised no one has mentioned mouse gestures yet. it's an extension for firefox. once installed you hold down the right mouse button and draw patterns on the screen. each pattern has a different meaning (back, forward, reload, new tab, open in new tab, open in new window, close tab, etc...)

i couldn't live without it now. give it a try.
