More HP!!!

First off i asked a question similar to the 2000+ forum

Guys I'm new to these forums so bear with me. I'm starting to get to know more about cars because of automotive courses.

So i'm wondering on the1999 GST eclipse
What do u all need to worry about when you get a turbo and your car is in the 400-500HP range (e.g pistons, Manifolds, exaust...) and how much would it cost?

Cause at this board I saw and M3 vs eclipse

Re: More HP!!!

Shit having a fwd in the 400-500 hp range, I would worry about traction. But the rule of thumb for internals is thay can handle up to 450 hp. fo to dsmtuners.com and look around the tech guide.

Re: More HP!!!

to reach 400hp on a eclipse you'll need
rewired 255hp fuel pump or larger
AFPR w/ return fuel line
performance plugs/wires
660cc injectors if not larger (660cc is biggest you can go on safc2, dsmlink will support upto 1600cc!)
air/fuel controler, datalogger (dsmlink) or (safc2 & pocket logger)
evo16g turbo or larger (slowboy's evo3 is dyno proven 400hp)
intake pipe with filter
manual or electric boost controler.
boost gauge
supra smic or fmic
bov that holds pressure over 20psi (crushed 1g bov is the least expensive)
act2600 or equlivent clutch.
2.5 or larger turbo back system
sterdy transmission (400hp are around the limits of 3rd gear)

you'd benifit from getting a LSD, rebult tranny, wideband 02, and new suspention with stiffer spring ratios.

the stock block and head will support 400hp. but depending on your choice of turbos anything larger then a evo16g you might look into geting new cams for better lift and overlap ratios. you can go as crazy as you want. a 1g head/intake manifold/throddle body are great upgrades to a 95-99 4g63! you'll be fine with the 2g exhaust manny and o2 housing , porting wouldnt be a bad idea sence you'll have them off anyway.

thats a big question with plenty of diffrent answers. its persional prefrence.
