please help.. trans problems
I posted this in the prelude forum too....
I have a 92 prelude si auto I have an automatic transmission and started my car this morning and first had trouble moving the car from park to drive, it wouldn't move. I restarted the car and it moved and the drive light(drive 4) on the dash started flashing. IT has trouble shifting. The drive light flashes and then when the car is in park the disangagement for moving the car from drive to reverse or 1 2 or 3 keeps clicking. Any ideas? If it is the trans should i get new or rebuilt? Any thoughts about level ten transmissions? So far my research has made me think possible speed sensor. |

the codes say that its the solenoids but when i told the mechanic that i couldn't move the car from park to drive he thinks it is the automatic transmission computer. The car is working fine now so its probally intermident. I can pick one up on ebay like 30 bucks but i need to know where its located and how to do this. they want 200 -300 bucks to put in a computer!!!
thanks |

Re: please help.. trans problems
The computer should be under the carpet near the passenger side kick penal. But before you change the computer, try checking under the hood and under the car for loose harnesses first, then clear your codes and test drive the car again. Retrieve codes again to see if there are any existing problems
