Re: speedometer swapping

okay well as in 4.3 i guess i forgot to mention i have a 2.8 2 barrel oh and i have the 82-85 dash flat dash and i think i have had it up to 100 cuz i could feel it floating on air it started at appx 95 (guessed from rpm & needle postion ) however is there any gauges from any gm product that did not have to comply with the stpid 79-83 law about 85 mph speedos like maybe any chevy come with a 100 mph speedo of the same size?

You actually got a 2.8 carb past 60mph.....up to over 85mph? Did you put some rocket boosters on it or were you driving down hill or something...?....

yep its totaly stock and i was timed 0-60 in 11.6 sec and i may need to mention now it has the i think rare option of 4.11 gears from the factory and happends to have the z71 off road package with 235/75/15 tires i think this was the 2nd year for that option and yes its automatic it acceletats pretty strong until 53 then clims up okay until appx 90 when it climes like a slug it took me maybe 2 min to get from 75- appx 100 the eng is in very good shape but how does it go over 85 ? beats me i donno cuz i was on I-5 near olyimpia wa, where the speed limit is 70 and got it to over 90 at least easy while passing a couple trucks

Re: speedometer swapping

You could just try swapping the cluster for another Blazer's cluster. Mine goes up to 140MPH, but I doubt that the truck will *ever* go that fast.

Why do you need a 100+mph speedo in a full size blazer?

Isn't there other things you could be concentrating on more to get more economy and power from your truck?

I dunno dude, came with the truck. It's a '95 CPI fired 4.3, and nope I said what I see MPH, not KPH. But seriously, the added numbers does NOTHING to make the truck faster. Are you after it for "looks"? Is it to satisfy the hungry speed demon in the back of your head? Just curious, mostly. I in no manner mean to poke fun or call you out or nothing, just I really want to know your reasoning for going after a "faster" speedo.
