Where's the power!!

I mean seriously!! Toyota where have you been !! You have done away with the greatest import sports car that has ever hit
american asphalt the Supra AND now you have taken away the Celica, well at least we still have the MR2...and I know your
new line is the Scion, and i must say that the TC is cool but not as sleek and powerfull as a true toyota should be! Now lets
talk about Nissan, the 350Z they have got it right ONLY ONE THING THOUGH!!!......NO TURBO .....WHERE HAVE THEY
GONE...... HELLO TOYOTA....TURBO TURBO TURBO!!!! AT LEAST MAKE A SCION THAT COMES WITH A TURBO AND AT LEAST OVER 250 HP.......

Im starting the think that TRD stands for Turbo Removed?...Damm!!!!!!!!!

I will never stop loveing toyotas....im just upset well i guess im done venting...

Any additions or comments will be greatly appreciated and needed, maybe it will be a wake up call to toyota

LONG LIVE THE IMPORT SPORTS CAR ENTHUSIASTS

the best you can get forced induction wise from toyota/scion is the Tc option for a supercharger, it gives an all impressive 30hp [i think cant remember becuase i don't care] wtf?!?!?

some of the best imports you get now are like the evo, sti, lancer ralliart

nissan got rid of turbo's for the fairlady cars [zx cars], never introduced true silvia's, the SE-R sentra isn't too good quality the engine is weak and blows rather easily, the skyline is loosing the turbos and is either gettting a v8 or a v6[most likely] so it will basically be an overpriced G35, the RX series lost the turbo, mazda doesn't make any other really good ones as the mazdaspeed protege is slow[low power for being turbo'd] and i think they dont make it anymore, honda/acura doesn't make that great of racers either their edge used to be Vtec but the thing is that since their patent expired a few years back everybody uses it, they have the Si/ RSX type-S/S2000/NSX, the Si isn't too quick, the S2k isnt practical due to price same with NSX 80k, RSX type-S is fairly nice though, mitsubishi lost the 3000gt and turbo eclispe, they have the lancer ralliart very nice for price, the new V6 eclispe with MIVEC[release 06] is also a great buy bang for buck

thats about all i can think about right now

i think that turbo are being removed becuase of price for production, also for some odd reason i think that, car makers feel people in general don't want forced induction any more [very odd becuase of the F&F craze], for the sports compact class the SRT-4 is quickly gaining popularity becuase the price and turbo

Isn't Dodge killing the SRT-4 next year or is that a rumor? I don't know how many units they've been moving every year or what kind of quality issues they've had. I heard those engines couldn't take the power it generated though. Amazing performance but I knew of a girl who's engine blew up 4 blocks down the road right after she bought it. Not quite Toyota quality...

The F&F craze should have done somthing to the industry i mean Camon!!! they had to have known what was gonna happen....but dident act on it and now there regreting it. There is so much money to be made if they just would have thought about it...lets see the baby boomers are gonna retire soon and there still stuck back in the day of the muscle and they dont want a granny car to get to work and i know that the 16 and up crowd DONT want to be runnin around in a 1990 dodge diplomat!!!!!!

We need a good turbo car that dosent cost your 1st born !!!!!

Re: Where's the power!!

look at who most car compaines are marketing to, not kids that want fast souped p car, but older poeple that want a slena we ll handeling ride

AUDI just did a press release saying there going to stop the HP fued between them and BMW saying the more hp we would try to get the more weight we woueld add and the worse the handleing would get...instead of turbos and all that (goodbye audi tt's) thre going for lightweight N/A motors in the near future

realisticly only about %30 of the people looking for cars even look at the Hp ratings, most of those being kids...to the companies the market for high Hp cars isnt price productive...if they can sell more units at a lower cost (ie less Hp less cost due to less develpoment) then the company will do so

why do u think the 7th gen celicas are really dissapering? they outsold RXS's and integra R's but they did not pull in the profit that they wanted/needed

toyota spent a bunch of money to yamaha (yamaha built the 2zzge and 1zzfe basically as well as the VVT(L)-i system) to devepole a bunch of product...acura did not they already basically had the technology from hona when introducing the rsx and type r

basically car companies arent making high hp cars or turbo cars becuase the market isnt for that as of now, its a well handeling CAR that gets good gasmielage and drives well
