atlas 12 in a $500 setup
Hey. Any recommendations on what to match up an atlas 12 with in terms of enclosure and an amp? After the sub ill have about $350 for the enclosure and the amp, divided up however, what sounds really good with this sub for this price range?
Is it easy to make your own enclosure? Should I go to my friend's cousin's shop? What's the best way to do this?

Ng, you have a fancy for any particular amp at that power? Tryin to keep it cheap but still get some nice sql. in my other thread (which im jus gonna ignore now because a 15" is really much more than i need), someone recommended a hifonics bx1800d, would a lower-watt amp from hifonics be a good bet or should i look elsewhere? we're in the $300 or less price range.
Thanks!

The absolute cheapest amp you can buy that will put out rated power and is still good enough quality is a Profile CL600 or a Profile CL600m. The CL600 gives you 450 rms @4ohm bridged, the CL600m will give you 300rms @4ohms. If you're going sealed...try out the CL600...if you're going ported go with the CL600m. Few other brands to check out if you want: Viper, Phoenix Gold, US Acoustics, PPI, Avionixx, eD (elemental designs www.edesignaudio.com) Just look for 300-400 rms @4ohms ![]() NG |
