What would you pick? 2001 Integra GS-R, 2000 Civic Si, or 2001 Prelude SH? I picked these three cuz all have VTEC engines, all of them are fast, and all of them are coupes. And there are a hell of alot of parts out there to mod these cars.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
Personally, I would pick the GS-R. Hands down. I believe it is the faster out of the three stock, and has the best potential. Mostly because that is the motor that I would swap into my Civic. Out of all three motors, the B18C1 is my fav too. L8...

i would not get the prelude SH, i would just get a regular 5th gen. i would pick the lude becasue it has more tq, and its much roomier, and also look alot better. a gs-r is basically a teg with the blade wheels, and ordinary tegs are a dime a dozen. even though i don't really like hondas, everytime i see a clean 5th gen lude, i'm like damn, that is one nice ass looking car. but when i see a teg, i dont' even think twice about it, and whenver i see a Si, i see it as a big waste of money. the Si i by far the slowest one.
now depending on where you live, i would consider not getting any of the B series powered car. here in nyc, i know a guy that got his Si stolen 5 times, ( he had lojack ) and everytime it was recovered everything was gone, and insurance had to pay for everything, and i personally know 4 people who got there GS-R's stolen and 3 was never recovered. i also know a guy with a CRX with a B16 swap that got his car stolen. but i know 3 guys with H22 powered ludes, and non of them was even touched. thats somethign else to think about. now for the lady factor. most girls who see a Si will think its just a civic thats slightly dropped with rims, and a nice paint job, the same with the GS-R, but 5th gens are alot more rare, and just looks like a more expensive car.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
I think I would probably go with the GSR it's the best looking and fastest from what I've seen IMO.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
The Prelude would be my pick of the three. It's slightly faster stock than the other two, handles better, and looks better in my opinion.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
I'd choose the Prelude Type SH. The ATTS system is just incredible, and can fool many people into thinking the Prelude is RWD or AWD. I've always been a big Integra fan, but they got stolen way too often, and they have more of a ricer image than the Prelude. The Prelude's motor also has a lot of torque throughout the whole rev range, as opposed to the high-winding B18C1. The Civic Si would be my last choice. It's the slowest of the three, it gets stolen almost as much as the Integra, and it has the most negative image of the three.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
I'd definitely pick a Prelude if I was after something with VTEC and more or less only because it's not as likely to get stolen as the Integra or Civic Si. They're also more comfortable, don't quite look as good as Tegs though, but have more torque, which is a definite bonus and the H22A really does make them fly........
I'm currently looking for a Prelude as well, but can only really afford a 4th Gen and finding one NZ New is a pain in the ass compared to the 5th Gen...... |

On a track I would bet on the Prelude. I think it has a more timeless design too.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
They're pretty overpriced over here. A 1997 Prelude Type SH (first year of the fifth gen.) will regularly go for 8K. I could get a Camaro Z28 or Eclipse GSX of the same year for that kind of money, both of which are considerably faster than the Prelude. You do get better build quality, Honda reliability, and a smoother ride, though.

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
None of the three are really fast. You get very similar times with any of those, people struggle to get a 15.5 with a GSR, and low 15s with a H22, I did it with a B16...so as far as performance, it pretty much comes down to the driver...looks are questionable...and none of the cars are Pimp, excellente handling cars, none have nice interiors, sooo...basically you get similar things covered up...

Re: Integra GSR vs. Civic Si vs. Prelude SH
with all variables being the same the lude performs better, has better resale value, more rare, and has the most potential out of all of the three. everything else is opinionated (such as look). only thing the b series have over the h22 is market support and aesthetic value. and whoever said a gsx is 'considerably faster' than a lude needs to get the facts straight. the performance advantage a gsx offers is miniscule.
