Aston Martins raced with green and yellow paintwork all those years ago.
Here is a DB3S. The DB3S took at least 15 victories.

The DBR9's steel roll cage is bonded and bolted to the extruded aluminum structure due to the fact that steel can't be welded to aluminum.

Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby won the the S3.0 (3 liter engine) class in the 1956 12 Hours of Sebring in an Aston Martin DB3S. They finished 4th overall.
