88 Jimmy, where is the ignition switch located?

A turn of the key does absolutely nothing and it's not the starter. The switch is only $10, but where is it? I've searched for hours but there are no details on how to replace it or where it is exactly. I've replaced a few before on different cars and they're usually right behind the ignition lock, but this column looks like it wasn't meant to come off. Thanks.

I think you will find it about halfway down the column. I am pretty sure it is remote activated by a rod just like your high and low beam switch is.

Re: 88 Jimmy, where is the ignition switch located?

I thought so as old GMs were like this. I pulled some other white connector farther down attached to the column, but that wasn't it. I also saw one midway as you suggested but couldn't figure out how to remove it. I even used a mechanic's mirror and couldn't figure it out. Thanks.
