Check Gauge light???

Whats the CHECK GAUGE LIGHT MEAN what do i need to do or check to fix it. The light comes on randomly.

i have gotten it for almost being out of gas. Try adding a little more gas.

Same problem, same solution. Happened more than once too. I just don't understand why the whole status annunciation process couldn't be simplified. Something like-----ch eng (on)---(blink) low fuel---. Better stop here; or I'll be diagnosing a rant..lol
