Question Custom Air Intakes

I was thinking of installing a custom air intake on my civic. My plans were to keep the stock air box but chang the intake pipe on to bottom of the box. I was thinking of installing a different pipe from the bottom of the stock box and running it down to get fresh air from the right side whole in my bumper. Does this make sence?? I already have a K&N filter. What are ya'lls opioins on this? Would it be worth it to do this?? Has anyone one done this already?? Thanx in advance for ya'lls help.

spend the cash and buy a nice AEM CAI, or if you want to go a little cheaper buy a short ram intake.

he'd get WAY more performance out of his first idea (running fresh air through a custom-fitting into the stock airbox) with a K&N filter than he would with a shortRam intake..

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

exactly how does one have problems with it? theres really nothing to malfunction...you are simply attaching an extension to the bottom of the airbox...

Better yet, get an AEM CAI and put direct-cold air induction onto that like me =) All i did is cut out that little black fake vent thingy on my front bumper. I have yet to make a fiberglass "air box" but for now I can already notice a difference.

I think one of your purposes of that idea is also to keep it sleeper-ish? I would recommend using 2.75" manderel bent exhaust piping... figure out the exact dimensions u need and go get a peice from an exhaust shop... it should only cost you like $35 w/ the bend.
