Question Total price

Guys I'm new to these forums so bear with me. I'm starting to get to know more about cars because of automotive courses.

So i'm wondering on both 4cyl. and 6cyl. engines. On 00 eclipse
What do u all need to worry about when you get a turbo and your car is in the 300 - 400 HP range (e.g pistons...) and how much would it cost?

Cause at this board I saw and M3 vs eclipse

Re: Total price

to hit 300hp....there is really nothing you have to worry about for either engine. maybe an LSD but thats about it.

the v6 engine's pistons can handle between 10-12psi which will put you between 350-400whp.

the i4 engine's pistons can handle about 15psi which will put you around 300whp.

Re: Total price

If you run 10-12 psi your engine will last about a month on a V6, and you will out a ride. Get some headers, CAI, ship, exhaust, catback, and yes this will all cost you just about as much as a turbo, however with all of this you will have a gain around 70hp and your car will last and still be under warranty. I blew the turbo out of my Evolution a month again, just getting on it and on it. To much delay for me, if you want hp, straight out power right away, not when you hit a certain RPM then get a supercharger or the things I listed above.

Re: Total price

ok now i know you are a dumbass and that you know NOTHING about this car. just b/c you slapped a supercharger on your car doesnt mean you know shit. i would love to see somebody get 70hp out of those mods you listed.

let me ask you a question....if you love RIPP's products so much and you say that our engines will blow if we run 10-12psi, then why dont they include pistons with their stage 2 kit(the kit which is suppose to run a 12psi pulley)??
