Just a CRAZY idea
would it be possible to swap out the engine from my 94 2.2 with the engine out of a new saturn ion redline with the supercharger and all? they are the same size engine. just a wild thought.

Re: Just a CRAZY idea
anything is possible, but it'd be easier just to adapt the saturns turbo to fit your motor

Re: Just a CRAZY idea
i agree. it would be cheaper and less nerve raking. just because its the same size doesnt mean its a easy swapout. mounts, wiring, transmission. that 2.2 is made to fit the saturn not an s10. would be alot of mods to make.

Re: Just a CRAZY idea
well depends, i dont know what a saturn turbo looks like, reguardless, in a 4banger, a v8 swap is a little more pricey then a 4.3 because of mounts, if your going to go all out and dont care about mpg, then do the v-8, if you want good gas then do the turbo, but i think the turbo would be a pain in the ass to try n piece together, and you would still need the intercooler

Re: Just a CRAZY idea
Go with the V8, they are pretty common and you'll have no problem getting conversion parts, not to mentino on-line help on this forum from people that have done it.
Look at this 4x4 v8 conversion, he did a pretty good job showing the process plus he's offering on-line help http://hickory.engr.utk.edu/~gpowell/2.html |
