steering column

Has any one repalced the column in a 67 with an aftermarket or late model with a key in the column?
Tilt would be nice but the key in coulnm and locking the wheel would be a little safer.
I have looked at van columns and Idit and others.
The salvage yard have a vast supply of tilt columns...
If some one has any ideas with experience speak up.

Mick

steering column

The steering column isn't hard to take out of the car so the best bet is to take it out, take measurements and call around to see what will fit. Im doing the same thing right now and the measurements all seem to be pretty standard so you shouldn't have a problem finding a steering column that will fit whatever spec.s you want. If you want something late model go to the junkyard and take measurements yourself, you'll probably find something. Go to columsgalore.com and contact the people there, they know their stuff pretty well.
