The catalyst converter heat shield fell off of my 99' Integra this morning. Do I need to replace it? A friend of mine suggested that it would be ok not to replace it. What should I do? Thanks in advance!

Re: catalyst converter heat shield fell off
Leave it be, they more than often fall off. The weakest part of a stock honda is the rust cursed exhausts. It will not harm the exhuast or car anyway. I run my exhaust without a cat on my turbo motor, and never had a problem. On my NA, the heat shield came off a long time ago, I too left it be. They usually rattle and cause an annoyance anyway.
