Trans replacment 700R4 90 chevy

I was going to replace the Trans in my 90 Chevy Truck 350 when I was reading in my ABS Manual it say the Abs is controlled by the speed sensor in the Trans. The tail shaft has a Tone ring for the Abs RWAL System. The system is in use from 88-91 then they changed the sensor to the Diff. Ilooked in my factory service manual Trans section and couldnt find find any tone ring on the tail shaft. If I use another trans from another vechile which I have I wont have ABS. Has any one run into this problem.

Re: Trans replacment 700R4 90 chevy

Yes I have had this problem. Some trans are electronic speedos and some are manual. If you swap for a manual speedo, you will need to have the gear on the tailshaft changed. I swaped my trans for one out of an 88 Astro and an 85 Astro and had this problem. The local trans shop fixed it for me and a fluid flush and filter change for $148
