Question DragRacer Question

Right now i am stuck on a project im eager to finish asap. Some of you might remember i started a projectect on a 1999 Ford Mustang convertible. Their are some problems i want to make it a drag car i finally decided to go with that. But since it is a convertible how can i make it a hard top and how can i instal drag racing tires that will fit good with minor modification?

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry i dont have any pics.

Ps it a Maisto 1:18 scale model.

Re: DragRacer Question

About the only thing you could do is scratchbuild a hard top.

For the drag tires to fit it will require some modification and scratchbuilt suspension.

Re: DragRacer Question

Yea. I believe NHRA states that for a legal pro stock drag car that the top cant be removable.

Heh, the Maisto Mustang convertable Drag car, I've done it, and it came out rather nice, what I did was used cardboard to make a custom hardtop, bondo'd it and all other holes and un-wanted indents in the body, then I bought a 1:18 Johnny Lightning Bad News II Drag Nomad, took the slicks and the motor, and this is the part that requires ALOT of modifications, I cut out BIG squares to accomidate the wheels and ground away all intrusions in the wheel wells of the body, then made a 100% custom suspension frame, and that was basically the jist of it, hope I helped.
Take a look at my Supra Drag car, it's basically the same deal.

Re: DragRacer Question

Yeah, simple cardboard, just cut it to what you need plus tabs to band and glue, then shave it down, then enjoi.
