disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minutes. If you have a recurring code it will show itself soon enough.

i did that and it came back on after driving again. do i keep disconnecting the battery?

no, you fix the problem that's causing the computer to throw a code. You can get the code read at Autozone for free.

autozone sells the diagnostic reader too. there are 3 models, so make sure you read the back of the package to see what type of codes it reads. the cheap one just reads basic codes.
