Distributor problems, code a code 8

I recently have a code 8 showing under the seat of my car. Red light flashes 8 times then pauses.... 8 times then pauses... 8 times then pauses...etc. I looked in my manuel and its TDC Crank Angle. Looking also for the information on it . My crank sensor is located in the Distributor. Went and bought a new one and Installed it. {pretty easy}. I cleared the codes and started the car and the code is still there. What to do now. I have no clue. The distributor is OEM Im driving a 1990 Legend sedan sutomatic.

Re: Distributor problems, code a code 8

check the wiring from the ecu to the sensor. see if any of the wires are shorted to ground. if none are shorted to ground...then you may be looking at a bad ecu. if you have a ohm meter...it would be handy for checking for shorts.

Re: Re: Distributor problems, code a code 8

I took it to the Stealership and they stole me for $106.88 to tell me I need another distributor. They saw that I had a new one and it was bad. I replaced the New distributor with a new distributor and its all gravy train now.
