98 Century AC system

ac works fine and will freeze you out only on the passenger side!!! on the drivers side however its cold sitting still,,,but when you start going down the road , its like the vent is open to the outside air and it gets warmer and the humid air pouring in,,even in the max setting ....Now this is only on the left vents only!!!! My wife is getting frozen out on the other side!!! she has to close off her vents and the vents on my side still has warmer outside air coming in them....But when I stop,, my side starts getting very cold again!!!! This does not have any dual control to my knowledge...just one control does all.....I have never had any vehical ever do like this before I bought this one...Im 51 so I have had lots of others before...But this one takes the cake..any help would be great......

I don't know the specifics of your system but I would look for/listen for a vacume line off under the dash. Though I would think that you would have no control over where the air blows out and would have the same air on both sides if it were a vaccume line. Perhaps you have a flap for the vent on the driver side that is broken/out of track. While your sitting still there is no problems with the a/c blowing through but when you take off the air drug in from the outside is stronger than the inside current. My guess is a broken/stuck vent flap. But a better place to ask this question would be here http://www.autoacforum.com

On a more humorous note, you can always let your wife drive or maybe even take turns. When one of you gets too cold, pull over and switch.

Now remember, I like most people on this site are not master mechanics. These are places I would start on my own car. My advice cost you nothing but, maybe some time. If it's right or wrong please report back so someone else (maybe even me) will know where to look if I/they have the same problem. Good luck
