crazy bastards

So I'm walking to my girlfriends...because UPS sucks and my new oil line didn't come today!...and all I hear is exhaust roaring. I turn the corner and see a black mid-80s camaro and a white debadged 350Z just flying down the street next to each other. Both had exhaust and sounded quite nice, but I mean this was mid-afternoon, 3pm, and it was a public road 30mph...and they were side by side...and there weren't 2 lanes. I watched them the whole way down the road, just waiting for one to run the other into a parked car...but no such luck. So these idiots apparently didn't learn thier lesson yet...but it was pretty cool to watch from the 'completely innocent bystander' point of view Neither pulled much from what I could see...they stayed pretty even until the end of the road where they turned out of my view.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Some people need to use a little bit of common sense

This scenario is kind of wierd. If it was too riced out honda civs racing down the road at the speed of fart I would say hey look at those retards I hope they get thrown in jail.

On the other hand however If i see two nice cars doing the same act I feel as if they know how to control the situation better , and am am more in awe then appauled. I still think that its an unsafe thing to do, but it seems less stupid with nicer cars (don't ask why)

If you watch the gumball 3000 they are doing very unsafe things, but everyone typically says their crazy not their stupid. By all means the people driving the nice cars may not be as suited to racing as a "riced out civic", but it just seems like they have more right to. Don't quote me because its hard to put the feeling into words.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Well, my rationale is if they were intelligent enough to buy a $100,000+ Porsche GT2, they must be intelligent enough to learn how to drive it well. However, if the 16 yr old next door talks his parents into buying him a civic on which he pays no insurance or gas, he doesn't have a true feel for the worth and he is less hesitant to do stupid things. Does that make sense?

Watching street races from the sideline is interesting, its almost like being an outsider after having an insider's glimpse.

Re: crazy bastards

You gotta know that most fast cars are meant to go fast and have appropriate brakes, suspension, aerodynamics etc. A civic can go 100mph but how stable are they at those speeds?

Regardless if they have the proper set ups for those speeds, his point was that residentials aren't the place to do it.
