Dash Dummy Lights
On my 95 Talon TSi, I replaced my steering wheel. That caused the SRS light to come on. I took it to my mechanic but they could not clear it out
They asaid it could not read it.How can I turn off the light. Another light is the coolant temp,I repaced the coolant tank but the light still stays on. Yes, the coolant is full everywhere. Can I somehow turn that off(pull a fuse or something?) Any help would be cool. |

Re: Dash Dummy Lights
I would assume that the SRS light is on for a reason and being a safety issue you should probably determine the problem instead of just turning off the light. But, I guess you could pull the bulbs at the back of the cluster.

Re: Dash Dummy Lights
Did you replace the steering wheel with an aftermarket one?......
As for the coolant light.... have you checked the coolant temp sensor? I agree... just pull the bulb out from the back of the cluster.....

Re: Dash Dummy Lights
if you don't really worry about the srs light too much, pull it out but DO NOT pull out the coolant light. that could save you a motor in a bad instance. have you tried re-setting the codes with a scanner or just reading them through the car's own system. you might have to have them cleared with a scanner.

Re: Dash Dummy Lights
I'm thinking it's b/c the ecu cannot detect the streering wheel air bag since it is not there no more. Figure out where the sensor, or cable for it is and try to complete the circuit somehow to fool the ecu. I don't have air bags in my car, but from what i know the SRS light has something to do w/ the airbag. Or like everyone else said, pull the bulb which would be the "I'm lazy" quick fix which is perfectly fine for this problem.
