ProComp lift Help

I have a 2002 1500 silverado with a procomp lift.I read that older lifts are almost impossible to keep alligned.I bought the truck used with lift allready on it.How do i tell if it is one of the older lifts.

There really isn't too much difference between old and new. They are basically the same. Pro Comp, like other companies makes 2 different lifts: 1 that completely drops all drivetrain and steering/susp. parts a full 6" and uses the stock spindles. The other uses drop spindles for most of the lift. My guess is yours (like mine) is the better (IMO) kit that uses the stock spindles. They are awesome kits really, just make sure whoever installs it tightens everything no shit tight, then re-tighten everything, then loctitie it all. Also, whoever aligns it MUST understand the specs change when lifted, something like -2 Degrees caster (maybe). Also, make sure it is started/running when aligned or your steering wheel will be offset to the right. Something about power assist. All in all, they are GREAT kits, just check the shocks, the alignment, and the tightness of all 6,543 components on the lift.

Mosse is loose: I got a Pro Comp lift(complete 6" lift with all drop bracketry) ever since i got the lift i have not been able to get it aligned properly.....its visibly noticeable that the front tires are tilted a little bit out at the top( i htink that's the camber) and my outside tire edges wear MUCH quicker than the insides even without hard cornering and really light driving....I've been to a couple of places to get it aligned but no results....any ideas?....other than that i love the lift and my truck handles incredibly with it....

It's a problem with dropped trucks too for some reason. Some people can always get their camber to work out perfect and some can't. I've never been able to get mine correct, not even on the match up each side. think its like 1.5 on one and .5 on the other. Something relatively small, but b/c I notice every single steering glitch its very noticeable and annoying to me. But i deal with it.

Check your T-bars. If they are cranked-up too far (less than 4-5 threads remain) USUALLY that is the culprit. Mine was the same way. After I got the lift I cranked the bars up about 1" more, then had it aligned again. My camber was still too positive. I installed a set of the Ford F-150 keys, cranked them back down to where I had about 1" of threads hanging out the bottom. In other words, barely cranked at all. Because the Ford keys are indexed more, I got the same amount of lift, just more bolt hanging out the bottom. For some reason, this cured the camber problem I had (like yours). I feel your pain though, too me 8 trips to the shop who installed it, then I finally paid the bill myself at Meineke. The got it perfect...the 1st time. I also noticed your running a smaller tire too, that could be alot of your problems. Pro Comp told me that the lift is designed to be run with a taller/wider tire than stock (DUH) so, that would equate to more outer force on your suspension, sort of causing your tires to "flatten out". If that makes any sense at all. Mybe that's part of the problem? Just a guess.
