GTR vs Some pontiac

Hey all

was last weekend and was at a mates place, few ppl over we all had our rides, one guy (i dint know very well) had a r32 GTR 'highly modded' as he put it, as far as i could make out he would have spent a pretty penny on her, beautiful thing.

any way we all out cruising, my z's tail lights went out earilier this week so i wasnt so keen on cruising at night, so of course jumped in with the GTR driver.

MAN THAT THING IS FAST!

anyway we pull up to the lights and some dude and his chic come up along side with some kinda pontiac, (they look cool hey, only seen like a few in my life) starts reving, so we go with it.

we got the jump on him at the lights and fuking killed him! every gear we just pulled away from him, leaving him and my stomach behind us.

Ok what the hell is a GTO i havent checked the net yet thought id post this first. are they quick? Well i dont know that times and stuff they run but it lost BIG time!

we pulled up after the race and he was fuking so excited, he made us pull over so he could chat about the race and stuff. Man this guy was loaded! and his girl was hot too! probs drugs lol
he privetly imported the car from the states and said hes never lost a race before, that car was cool man sounded so hot!
wish i could see more of them around.

any whome the GTR kicks ass! never experienced anything like it before he rekens it was over 300kw before the single turbo was installed.
but he wouldnt tell me anything more! bastard lol

my advice to anyone with the oppatunity to buy a GTR of any sort, drive one then drive anyhting else, u will know what to do.

Re: GTR vs Some pontiac

So this is the old school GTO (i guess it would have to be the new one is a Holden...). I think theyre fast idk about others.

If i had the chance to buy a GT-R i wouldnt (unless it didnt have to go thru localization, then i would in a heartbeat).

Skyline GTRs only weigh in around 3300-3500lbs depending on year and trim.

Re: GTR vs Some pontiac

If it was a newer GTO it weights around 3600-3700 Pounds and LS1 models are 350 Horsepower and the New LS2 models are 400 Horsepower. They range from high 13-low 13's. Certainly no push over by any means. So it would be a great kill.

Re: GTR vs Some pontiac

GTRs owning, whats new

hell, most mildly worked 180s going around will chop any brand new v8.

My mates dad has a 100k v-spec r33 with 21" deepdish rims (the rims alone cost 20k a set), this is in Perth. The car apparently runs 11s, close to 400-500 hp not sure.

Will get pics next time im over at his place.

Did I say it was lightweight? Nope...

I'm just stating, they're not as heavy as one would think. But in the world of "sports cars". It's pretty damn light. Infact, it's on the lighter side of average.

Nissan Skyline R32 GTR 3262lbs
Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 3373lbs
Nissan Skyline R34 GTR 3395lbs

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 3116lbs
Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 3214lbs

Lotus Esprit V8 Turbo 3043lbs
Lotus Elise 111S 1975lbs

Saleen S7 2750lbs

Shelby Series 1 2650lbs

Ferrari 456M 3726lbs
Ferrari 575M 3815lbs

Lamborghini Mucielago 3618lbs
Lamborghini Gallardo 3560lbs

Maserati Cambiocorsa Coupe 3700lbs
Maserati GT Coupe 3678lbs

Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG 4080lbs
Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG 3635lbs
Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG 4300lbs

Some of these cars are fat pigs, but you wouldn't call them slow would you? You'd still call them sports cars wouldn't you?

My point exactly.
