wont start

so this has been going on every once in a while usually when its cold outside and the car is cold. if i try and start it some times it turns over and sometimes it just hums but normally im on my way to work or something and it starts after i turn the key again so i keep forgetting to figure out what is wrong. only problem is that this morning when i tried to start it it started and i killed it cause its really cold and it wont start again. the car just hums. if i turn my lights off it has a higher hum then with them on. my friends thinks it might be my ignition sulinoid but im not that experianced to say thats what it is or not. anyway any help would be great i had to drive my jeep with no windows to work today froze my butt off. thanks again!

Re: wont start

i think the humming is my fuel pump because when it finally started a few min ago it was all gassey and then when fine after a couple of sputters. is there a sulinoid for the starter or one for the ignition that would be going bad?

does it run okay after it starts? no, rough idle or loss of power or anything? Heres a link to an excerpt of the starting system from the service manual though.
