Resetting Modem
How can I reset my Modem with win XP with out having to reset the whole comp?
We have a very poor ISP, and even worse phone lines, and every now and then the modem crashs.

After talking to a customer services guy at Telecom (tying to figure out why my conection is so damn slow) he mentioned something about reseting the modem.
He gave me a string to try, but it crashed the modem, i.e. it wont detect a dial tone. He mentioned theres a way to reset it with out resetting the comp, but like all patronising customer service techs he thought it would be eaiser if I just reset my comp.

Get an external modem. Best thing a dialup user can get. You can see exactly whats going on, and if it gives you any trouble, just flip the power switch on it. Also, do you have a win modem? If you do, those are crap.
