Diesel : No juice to my cut off valve
Hey I still have the same problem with my Jetta. The fuel pump wasnt working at all ( the car isnt starting ) but after several test I found that I dont have any power coming to the Cutt-off valve. The car starts and run really fine if I connect the cut off valve direclty to the battery. I checked the fuse in the fusebox and this is not the problem. SO what wrong? Since its connected directly to the fuse box ? Is it a Relay or something??
Btw the wiring is okay |

Re: Diesel : No juice to my cut off valve
That's interesting. I would first think ECM power supply relay (position #3, top row, third from left), but thatr should also prevent the engine from running. I would also suspect the ignition switch since that is such acommon problem on the '97's, but the solenoid is powered directly from the ECM. That only leaves me with a bad wire, the solenoids white w/black trace wire connects to the ECM pin #53. Check it's continuity, if it's good then it might be a bad ECM (just a guess).

Re: Diesel : No juice to my cut off valve
I will test the wire and I really thinks this is my problem but if its the ECM what do you suggest me to do? What about connecting the wire to a different connection? ( accessories !? ) Since I only need a continuous 12V power for the solenoid?

Re: Diesel : No juice to my cut off valve
You may be able to find numbers on the end pins of the connector, but it may be easier to find the color. Check for continuity between the ECM & solenoid.
