chip question
Ok first things first, i have a 95 Z28 Camaro 6-speed.
Does it have a replacable chip in it? if it does whats the best kind or would i be better off getting the hypertech powerprogramer. i have been told my car does have a chip and that it doesnt have a chip (replaceable) Can someone please clairfy this for me Thanx

Your car does have a chip, however..it is solidered directly to the computer main board...BUT! it is a flashable chip. Clear as mud now?
A hypercrap programmer will work with it but if you get a bad flash on the chip you may be S.O.L. What I'd do is have the chip replaced with a DIP socket and a ZIF socket plugged into that, then you can have a removable, programable chip put in it. To program your car you need a program called...LT1 edit and it ain't cheap. Check here http://www.carputing.com/ |

yeah it seems any 4th gen before 97 has hard times with getting tunes for the computer. i myself have to send the whole damn brain of my car off to have it tuned, no programs for it at all, i decided to get a 97 one to replace the one that i have and i can dyno tune the damn thing till im blue
