low oil pressure light 3.8 95
I have a 3.8L 1995 Winstar. The other day the pressure light stated coming on. I seems to come on when I come to a stop or park the vehicle, but goes off when I accelerate. I just changed the oil and replaced the filter, no change. I replaced the engine with a schucks replacement two years ago. The oil pump is the original and the vehicle has 140,000 miles on it now. The new engine probably has around 30,000 miles at most. Any ideas on where to start? Should I replace the sensor? I am not sure if I have notice any real new noises from the engine yet or just paranoid. Can I replace the pump without raising the motor to get the oil pan off? Are the oil pump gears what goes bad? Thanks for your help.

Re: low oil pressure light 3.8 95
As I recall from reading information on my '96, the oil light can come on for low oil pressure OR low oil level. There is a sensor for each.
