Need help please, T04E housing and wheel matching

Hi there people,

I'm from the UK and need some help matching my compressor housing to a wheel.

I bought a T04E 50A/R compressor housing and a 50 Trim wheel. both seperate buyings.

Now the wheel looks too small for the housing, have I bought the right wheel, The wheel is 60mm in diameter

This is the link for the housing

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Now I'm not sure if the wheel is a T3 50 trim. Am I after a 60 Trim wheel or a 57??

Please help
Thanks

There are several turbocharger "replicas" availible (often cheap on the internet) that holds a very poor quality, it may be in the castings of the houses (as in this case), or in the wheels. There are also other problems, for example it have happend that their bearings fail the very first time the engine is used on full power.

I recommend that one buys the parts from the well known brands Garrett, IHI, MHI, Holset and so on.

As for wheel and housing matching, inducer diameter is the diameter if the impeller of the intake side (the small diameter), the exducer is the diameter of the impeller at the outlet to the diffusor (the large diameter of the wheel).

Turbocharger manufacturers usually list the exducer as wheel diameter. Trim is just a ratio between the two diameters. In many cases people can list the diameter of the intake/outlet of the compressor housing as the inducer/exducer diameter which is of course wrong.

For a wheel to match there are also some other dimensions that must match, but if one buys a housing which is smaller the the intended impeller it can be machined to a match.
