ok here is the link to this ebay auction i found engine it says 1.8 dohc... and it is a direct swap for the 2.0 and it is a direct swap for the 1.8... im confused. wouldn't that mean that i could get a 2.0 and put it into where my 1.8 is? thx

Re: real engine???
i bought the same engine from the saem guy it is exactly the same as the 4G63 but its a 4G67 it comes out of a elentra and it is a direct swap. I am putting that in and rebuilding my 4G63 that is coming out so I can turbo it. that engine has 130 hp compared to the 4G63 that has 135hp thats the only differecne. it is a direct swap I have the same engine in my car right now works awesome.

Re: real engine???
but is it a direct swap for the 1.8 4g37? in the auction it says that it is which sounds very odd. that would mean that i could swap a 4g63 in my car which everyone has made clear has so much fabrication to go with it that it is rediculous. thanks

Re: real engine???
I think you are confusing you spec w/ a metric one they would use in europe 135 ps (99.29 kw). Which is equivelant to 124hp and 116lb/ft torque. As for swaping a 4g63 into a 1g which originally has a 4g37 is very possible since they are both positioned the same. The manual transmissions (FWD) from a 4g63, 4g37, and 4g67 (just to list a few) are direct bolt on's for each, but the original starter and clutch should be used. Turbo 4g63's should stick to 4g63 tranny's as the other one's gear ratio would be inpractical.

Re: real engine???
ok... so you are saying i could get a non turbo 4g63, and the wiring harness i suppose for that engine, and then i could swap it directly into where my 1.8 sits with no modifications to any of the mounts? and you are saying i could use the starter and clutch from my 1.8. so would i need a new tranny if it was an n/a 4g63? i realize that the tranny is on the passenger side with both engines but i was under the impression that you had to move the motor mounts somehow to get the engine to bolt in right.

Re: real engine???
the hard part is the wiring since you need to change the ecu and the whole wiring harness.
EDIT>>> and its not worth it to swap in a 2.0 na. all the hassles of a dohc without the benefits of a turbo. if you have money to throw at your 1.8 just turbo it. its been done. search for post by "WankelTT" he has a 1.8 with a t4 turbo. and since the 1.8 is a non interference motor you dont have to worry about the valves hitting if the tbelt slips

Re: real engine???
ok well... im saving up for a 2g gs-t now so... thx but that seems like more hassle than i am willing to do and i am not spending rediculous money to turbo a 1g 1.8 so on to the 2g, here i come!
