I have a 93 suburban w/TBI that will not start. The fuel pressure is 13 psi. It will start and run if I dribble gas into the TBI. It seems that the the injectors are not getting the signal to operate. I have replaced the IAC but I don't want to start replacing parts unecessarily. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Suburban cranks but won't start
Are you getting any codes from the paper clip trick? Bridge terminals A and B on your diagnostic link and count codes. www.troublecodes.net Need more information to get a better idea of what could be wrong.

Re: Re: Suburban cranks but won't start
Yes, I have an OBDI "scanner" which is a fancy paper clip encased in plastic but their are no codes set. I was working on it last night and found out that if I prime the TBI w/ gas it will start and idle. But after a few times shutting it off an cranking it again it will die. It seems that whatever controls the startup or idle is hosed. I knew better, but I replaced the ECM and have the same problem.

Re: Suburban cranks but won't start
I have had that problem before on a 93 suburban! The problem was poor ground on the ignition module! I changed the module at the same time, and it works perfeckt after this

Re: Suburban cranks but won't start
EKJ, you would be correct. While I did not have a ground problem, I did have an ignition module problem. In my case the RPM or reference signal was not present, therefore the computer did not know the engine was trying to start. I replaced the module and all is well. Thanks for your input.
