How to make a 93 cl faster for cheap?
Hi everyone!
I just bought a vw golf (93 cl), and I was wondering if any one knows of any cheap mods for a 1.8? Apparently it's a rare model as I can't find alot of stuff for it on the Internet! My previous cars were a 95 accord EXR(2.2 vtec), and a 90 accord EX(2.2), both manual, and the Golf feels so underpowered, even though it's a much lighter car! I used to leave civics behind in my dust before, lol, but now I can't even keep up with a stock Si! ): It would be really great if you guys could give me some suggestions! Thanks alot Amino(1.8) |

Can't get much slower than the 1.8 Golf III! Not in watercooled anyway.
I'm not very familiar with the engine, as I have the 2.0, but there might be the usual bolt-ons .. this would bump your power marginally, make it feel a little more peppy. Forced Induction would be the only way to get large gains though, not sure whats availible for that old 8v. |

Thanks tr0ike!
Hopefully in a few days, I'm going to put in an air intake and hopefully that would give me a bit more power, or at least make the car sound better! ![]() Does any one know if the turbo could be added to a stock 1.8 mkIII ? 1.8! |
