Reverse problem

Hello board,Newbies here.
My 95 Explorer don't go in reverse.I recently change trans. fluid, filter.
All other shift are OK.Beside the O/D some time went of and on,I have to remove batt. cable to reset ECU. I'd like to know what's possibly wrong before bring to the shop.
I did swap couple of engine in the past and it could be fixed it myself?
Thanks for your input.

Re: Reverse problem

I hate to tell u this , but I think ur transmission has gone dead. I know this becuz I used to drive a dodge caravan van and one day it didnt go into reverse, only went forward. Soon I found out that the transmission had died, so I got my explorer.

A car not going in reverse usually means dead tranny. If its not worth fixing it, toss the car out. Dont spend more than what the car is worth.

Thats my best guess from past experience, a dead or corrupt tranny, someone else might differ. Hope this helps.
