Creaking noises

About two months ago I started hearing a rattling noise when I would hit a bump. When I drive the car, it seems to be coming from the passenger side door, or in the hatchback. I first thought it was the liftgate, but, after removing the liftgate the noise is still there. When seated on the passenger side, it sounds like the rattling noise is coming from the driver side. But this past weekend, I rode in the back of the car and it sounds like the creaking/rattling is coming from the back. You figure it out. I have a 2002 GTS. Does anyone have any ideas what this noise might be? Its driving me crazy. Now it does it all the time, not just when I hit a bump.

That was the first thing I did, but, the noise is still there. I'm at wits end.

Re: Creaking noises

Since these cars are made of plastic for the most part, its just one of those things you have to get used to.

Does anyone elses glove box rattle? If so, how do you fix it. All the hinges and whatnot are tight. It doesnt do it all the time, mostly when it's cold out. Probably just the plastic.

my gauge pod cover used to rattle, so i took it off and the little tab seemed to not be biting in so i put a strip of duct-tape around it and pushed it back in, no more rattling.

Re: Creaking noises

First off, you guy's with the ratteling problem, you need to mak a friend at a window repair shop. They use this black tar stuff on windows to seal them. Convince your new friend to jack you some, and stick it n all the places your cars rattle. Just make sure you do a good job so it doesnt look like a civic hack job!

Re: Creaking noises

You guys are all on crack..

I had the same problem... a rattling noise in the rear everytime I hit a bump. I recently lowered my car with eibach springs and had an alignment kit put on, so I thought thats what it was... I finally brought it to my mits. dealer and it turned out that both my rear struts were completely blown out.

Luckly for me they were covered under warranty, but yeah... thats your problem. Check your rear struts and I guarantee you thats what it is

i guess you are the one on crack. the 3G doesnt have struts in the rear. it has shocks in the rear and struts up front.

and also, did you see one time where he said that his car was lowered??

Re: Creaking noises

How the hell can you tell me my 2002 eclipse doesn't have stuts in the back when I JUST REPLACED THEM.

I better go tell my service manager at the dealership to take off my non-existant struts in the back that he just put on.
