85, 2.8 distributor problems

Here's the lick!
Started the car after getting off from work and heard a awfull screaming noise from under the hood. Checked it out and it was the distributor. Went home and pulled it, took it apart and the inner shaft was eaten up at the top. Is there supposed to be a bearing/bushing in there? I have a Haynes book and it don't show the innerts (shaft wise) of the dist. I looked at some parts places and they show a advance sleeve and felt washer but I think thats for a dist. with the coil on top. My dist. is comp operated. I greased it (at the top of the inner shaft and housing to get by) and put it back in. This thing isn't going to last long like this. Does anybody know where there is a diaghram of the complete dist. for this 85, 2.8? Also a remanufactuerd one costs about $113.00 which is bullsh*t because the HEI dist's.(coil on top) with more parts in them cost $88.00.
Is there any way I can get a reman. dist. without the module and pick-up coil? There is nothing else left but the pole/shaft/gear/washer and dist body!
