Fuel Filter??????

I recently had a leak in my gas tank on my 1989 ford bronco. i removed the gas tank and patched up the hole with some JB Weld. i put the tank the tank back on no problem and filled it back up with gas. there was no leak so i figured i did a good job patching it up. i went ot start my engine and it wouldn't start. theres plenty of gas in it so i dont know what the deal is. could it be the fuel filter? if so than i really dont know where it is or how to change it. could somebody please help me!!!??! thank you.

When you had the tank off, did you chech the in-tank fuel pump? (There are two on your truck.)

The fuel filter and high-pressure pump are on the driver's side frame rail. (Under the door.) The fuel pump is behind a heat-shield. Remove the bolts with a 5/16" socket. Check the leads to the pump. (Red and black) I've had the leads fall off OTR- and the thing stops. The leads are held on with two tiny nuts, so make sure they're attached and getting a good connection.

The fuel filter is just beyond the HP pump. Get a replacement and replace. (Two duck-bill connections you can take off with a flat-head screwdriver-the clamp is undone with a phillips-head or the 5/16" socket.)

I hope this helps. I would worry about contanimants from the JB weld getting into the Low-Pressure pump. If the HP pump and Fuel filter don't solve the problem, I would guess you'd have to take the tank off again. (I know, just what you wanted to hear after filling it up with 30 Gals...)
