hey yall

I am new to this forum but I am not new to this type of discussion ask drftk1d about me we talk all the time on AIM and MSN and his forum (which seems to be down).

Yeh i have a 1980 280zx my brother gave me (left it here...) with blown head and blown catallace converter has alot of mods (exhaust, custom intake, headers, clucth, flywheel.ect) was putting out 170 hp and 175 lbs/tq (not accurate just a estiment)

He has had like 4 datsuns (one he left in my driveway) and a 300zxt with unknown amount of power only has one seat and a 200 pound sterio system I do not know much about his car but I say its kinda fast probally running high 12's (probally mid) low 13's and cant say much to make it unreal but its good i guess.

Besides all that stuff about my bro's car I been wondering if I should keep the 280zx and get a new full block (only 670 from www.risingsunengines.com ) for it and start from scratch since like its been sitting for 3 years now and he just finally came bye and signed the title. I am just not sure if i should work on this car or wait for a 280zxt to show up and buy one of those. ? or should i just get another car in general?

Re: hey yall

well ok, 1200 for a car that you know the history of... if he's responsible with it you know the car is worth the work. at least you don't have any body work to mess with...

my advice to you is try option 3 get another car in general, sell what you have do some research on what you want and start there. those cars need a bit more knowledge. those arent starter cars if you want a starter car try a honda..........

I can not get a honda.... all my friends have them lol and trust me I have done my research just the only thing that is bothering me is the performanced of this car... i dont know if this car is enough to get into the street scene i mean i drive a ford focus its A/T cost me 3x's more to get performance parts for it then it does for the 280zx. I already have a list of all the parts im getting for my first year of working on it i will put that up if you wanna know it to.

interror is okay still after 25 years

dude you have 777 post 777 is my fav number lol

yeh i would do that its a very nice car.. its always the weakest of the Z cars with 132 HP stock... the 240 had 150 it performed alot better then this car... and the 280z was better to.... i mean come on 0-60 in 9.2 secs ima die i live in NV(serrously the speed limit is like the slow limit here, freaking the other day i saw two police cars reving at eachother at a stop light and another time racing this civic stop light to stop light).... the reason i would wait for the turbo to appear is because those are 180 hp and do 0-60 6.2 secs thats with min wieght imagine how bad the 9.2 is .... and yeh this car was the import car of the year once i think its really good car has 5-spd with cruis control, 4 speaker sterio, power steering, power windows.ect so its a nice car but danm it was also a good track car (not drag)

Re: hey yall

well that's with any car really.... i mean you loose tools in my car just the same, hell there's a few gaskets that have yet to be seen again along with my 10mm socket...

all i'm saying is 1200 dollars as compared to 5k+ for another car.... it just makes more cents. (pun)
