popped out of reverse
I was test driving a 92 eagle talon. I put it into reverse, I let the clutch up a little and gave it a little gas, it went backwards. Then it popped into nuetral. Does that mean there could be possible transmission problems, or that maybe I just didn't have it all the way in reverse?

i got a similar proablem exect mine pops out of 3rd and 5th someone told me it might not have enuff tranny fluid could this be true?

ive experienced the same problem in my 96rs in reverse, however, i think for some reason i just tend to not get my car all the way into reverse before i let off the clutch. if anyone knows that there is a different reason my car does this, please PM me so i can fix the problem.

somebody please tell me what is going on with these guys because im having the same problems also. the tranny fluid thing is true (fixed my prob temporarily) but Mine is doing it a even now and then with full fluid. It scares the shit out of me when i goto a parking lot and think i cant reverse or put it in first of second. I have to hold it in gear firmly to move it.

Well when I first got my 92 Talon it had a horrible tranny, 2nds sincro was shot, 4th was...gone, and 5th would just float out of gear like everybody else is saying. Right before I changed my tranny I was going down the high way at about 70, I was using the cruise control in 5th when all of a sudden the tranny slipped out of gear and my RPMs shot up to 6000.
I was told that this problem is could be caused by a nut that sits on the end of the gear shaft in the tranny when it loosens up. When I changed my tranny I found that I had Transmition lubricant all over in the bell housing alos it was all over the clutch. The spline in the bell housing was loose, also when I looked at the clutch the two sides where beginning to seperate in many places and also the Two sides would turn against each other a little bit. I don't know if this helps anybody but when my tranny was shot this is what I found. Good Luck. |

the tranny i now have in my car came off of a RS and the way it seems this linkage cable is to short or something....because its fine in 2 3 and revers but in 3rd and 5th it pops out at about 2,600 rpms i have to hold it in place

Every once in a while my car sometimes slips out of 1rst an maby Reverse......... not that often but anyways i went down to a transmission shop and the guy jumps in my car he jams on it dow nthe street for like 3 gears then stops we head back to the shop and he gets out an throws me the keys and says your clutch is bad not the transmission.
im soon having my new centerforce dual friction clutch installed and after that im thinking that it should be all good. Ill post back in this thread after i have it done to let you all know what happens if that will help at all. but if anyone else in the meantime can post if they know the answer or causes that'd be great.
