Recently purchased a 99 tahoe and now it seems that the passengers side heated seat quit working. It worked just fine when we bought the thing and just yesterday it doesn't want to heat. I checked all fuses in fuse box and they were just fine that I could tell. I don't see any wires under the seat that are disconnected. Someone told me that they heard that if you don't shut off the switch on the side of the seat that it could burn out the element. Any truth to this? I find that hard to believe. Any help would be appreciated on this issue. Thanks

Re: heated seat in 99 tahoe
Check the power to the seat. If it's getting power, it could be the element, or the switch, or a wire between the two.
FYI: This is the C/K forum. You might get better help in the Tahoe forum.

Re: heated seat in 99 tahoe
J-Ri's right. I'd repost in the Tahoe forum. The most we know about heated seats over here in the C/K section is from the results of eating lunch too much at Stan's Hot Polish Sausages and Beanery Stand!!!
Hope you find the problem.
