Is it stuck in 5th even if you move the shifter to any gear position?
If yes, then the shifter rod inside could be sliding on the fork due to a broken roll pin or the forks are broken for the 5th gear slider hub which are both located inside the tranny. The only way is to open the tranny or get a used one.
