Thumbs down Quicker Shift???

I absolutely love my 2000 4-door v8 Tundra. It rides and drives like a car, is totally reliable, and looks great in the two-tone white over grey. However, under hard acceleration, it shifts like a 1953 Oldsmobile with a dynaflow two-speed transmission. It loses all its momentum and RPMs with the ridiculously slow upshift. Is there any type shift enhancer kit or chip that will make the transmission shift quicker from 1st to 2nd gear???

Re: Quicker Shift???

Never heard of anything that makes the shifts quicker. Closest thing I have heard of is chips that let you set which RPM the gears actually shift, maybe there is a delay from when 1st gear disengages to when 2nd engages? Sorry I can't help more.

i don't know about a toyota ... but hypertech makes a programmer for alot of different cars and trucks (chevy and ford)... you can change shift points, firmness, correct speedo for tire sizes, fuel type, engine tuning ... they're not cheap ... but they're nice to have... i got one for the girlfriends blazer and my 00 k3500 chevy ... you can def. feel the shift changes... lol
